About This Project

The project was for private homeowners with extensive gardens in the ever-urbanised area of Conocoto, a suburb of Quito, Ecuador. The objective was to create an ecological oasis for birds in an urban environment, where water technologies could be showcased to similar centers around the country. Evolution first worked with the client in a series of workshops, where the objectives, dreams and concepts were ironed out. This was then brought to the stage of detailed design for two bodies of water: one garden pond that acts as a final polishing for pretreated wastewater intercepted from the household, and a large reservoir to store rainwater to be used for irrigation throughout the year. Evolution is now leading the construction works for the designs to be made into reality.
