Jointly with the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, this publication was born as a collective reflection on the issues of territorial planning in relation to the challenge of complexity, and the need to develop an interdisciplinary vision in the analysis of urban dynamics. The study aims to collect and develop ideas and concepts about the mentioned topics to explore the complex interactions between the founding elements of the city: environment, communities, infrastructure and technological systems. An interdisciplinary approach is intended to be highlighted and the integration of conceptual tools developed in different technical and scientific fields . Fields such as urban planning, engineering, ecology, political science, sociology and computer sciencevcan provide a new and deeper capacity for analysis in actors responsible for the planning, management and development of the city.
